These are for all my fantasy fiends...I've listed a bunch of my favorite pictures that I've found while surfing the web. For anybody that plays D & D, you'll know what I mean regarding the characters. I love the fantasy characters, and these best represent what I think a certain character would look like in a game. Just my opinion--lol. Everybody has a different vision, and these were just some cool pictures.

Just surfing the web tonight, not really looking for anything special, and came across a real interesting article. Thought I'd share it.

Colors, colors, colors

I love taking walks, especially at sunset. Down here in Kentucky, we get some of the greatest colors. We get the oranges, purples, blues, pinks--it's so gorgeous so I'm constantly taking pictures to show.

I love to find the most peaceful spots with the right lighting. It just shows some of the true beauty. I live near the Land between the Lakes in Western Kentucky, and there are some truly unique places. All the pictures above I took while traveling the Trace with my husband. He does the driving so I can find the spots I like. I stumbled onto this litt
le dirt road and just absolutely loved the shot. That has to be one of my favorites.

And, of course, my favorite pictures of the colorful sky...

Colors, colors, colors--can't get enough of them!! For some reason, I feel this overwhelming need to surround myself with lots of color. Several years ago, my husband and I decided to paint our kitchen. I wanted something that had a fresh color coming in because we had excellent lighting in there. We fought for a week about the color, and I finally said, "Listen, I'm the one that lives in there cooking for everybody. The least you can do is give me my room the way I want it". Needless to say, I got to pick the paint. I went with Apple Tree Green. It went beautifully with my dark mahogany cabinets. Everybody that came in my house commented on how well the color complemented the colors in the kitchen. So now it's a standing joke in the house that his kitchen is called "holy crap it's green!!"

The point I'm making is sometimes it's good to experiment with color. I don't care how ridiculous the color is, you might be surprised at how much you like it. Colors make us feel good about ourselves, when nothing else does.

More Calming Moments...

As I sit here sifting through my pictures, I feel overwhelmingly drawn to the ones I took by the water. That's really not surprising because when I'm in one of my funks, water has always soothed me and calmed me down. It would force me to relax every inch of me. Aching muscles went away, the tension in my neck would ease, and I enjoyed every minute of it. That is known in my house as "Mom Time". Both my husband and kids know that for one hour they are not to bug mom for anything. Dad gives mom a break, knowing it will make his life easier for the night.

I firmly believe water can be a healing agent and cleanse us inside out. It refreshes you on so many levels--how can you not feel better about yourself? I think people should start to take some time for themselves. Just one hour to spoil yourself and feel selfish. You do enough during the day...and night...to allow yourself a little bit of time.

Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it. -- Lao Tzu

Take a course in good water and air; and in the eternal youth of Nature you may renew your own. Go quietly, alone; no harm will befall you-- John Muir

We have two lane bridges to cross over, lots of secret places where water abound, and many beautiful sights to see!! I keep telling everybody that there are so many beautiful things around us, if they would only open their eyes! I love peaceful places because they inspire me to be more creative. I've recently discovered I like taking pictures, so I'm going to try to find some of the true beauty that surrounds us on an everyday basis. This is going to be a new journey for me, so we'll see how it goes.
